Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Sanjog ("we," "our," or "the app") helps couples and the people helping them plan a Sikh wedding — guests, budget, vendors, checklists, and schedule — in one shared place. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Sanjog iOS app and to the public RSVP pages it generates for your guests.

If anything here is unclear, or you want to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at sanjog.sikhweddingplanner@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account and use the app:

Account information

  • Email address and password (if you sign up with email), or your name and a private, app-specific relay email address (if you sign in with Apple)
  • First and last name, used as your display name to collaborators on a wedding

Wedding details

  • The couple's names, wedding date(s), and total budget
  • A theme/color selection for the app's appearance
  • An optional photo of the couple, if you choose to upload one

Planning content you create

  • Checklist items — task text, due dates, completion status, and who a task is assigned to
  • Schedule & events — ceremony names, dates, times, venues, dress code, and notes for each event (e.g. Roka, Anand Karaj, Reception)
  • Budget & transactions — spending categories, amounts, who paid, payment status, and optional photos of receipts. We do not process payments — this is a personal record-keeping tool only, and we never collect card or bank details
  • Vendors — vendor names, categories, contact details, contract status, and notes
  • Activity log — a record of who on your wedding team made which changes, so collaborators can stay in sync

Collaboration

  • Invite codes you generate to add collaborators, and which account redeemed them
  • The role (owner or collaborator) and display name of each person with access to a wedding

2. Information about your guests

A wedding's guest list necessarily includes information about people who may never open the app themselves. This can come from two places:

  • Entered by you — when you add a guest in the app, you may provide their name, which side of the family they're on, meal preference, plus-one count, email, and phone number.
  • Submitted by the guest — if you share a personalized or generic RSVP link, the guest can submit or update their own name, RSVP status, meal preference, plus-one count, and which events they're attending, directly through that public web page.

If you are a guest and want information about you removed or corrected, you can ask the couple who invited you (they can edit or delete a guest entry directly in the app) or contact us at the address in Section 12.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above only to operate the app's core features:

  • To create and secure your account, and to identify you to your wedding's collaborators
  • To store and sync your wedding's guests, budget, vendors, checklist, and schedule across your devices and with people you invite
  • To generate the public RSVP pages you share with guests, and to record their responses back into your guest list
  • To show you insights you've asked for, like budget-used and RSVP-status breakdowns
  • To respond if you contact us for support

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not run third-party analytics or ad-tracking SDKs in this app.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell your information. It is shared only in these ways:

  • With your collaborators — anyone you invite to a wedding (via an invite code) can see and edit that wedding's guests, budget, vendors, checklist, schedule, and activity log. This is the whole point of the app: letting a couple, family, and planner work from the same data.
  • With your guests — a guest who opens your RSVP link can see the wedding's event names, dates, and venues, and their own existing RSVP details if you sent them a personalized link.
  • With our infrastructure providers — we use Google Firebase (see Section 10) to authenticate accounts and store data. Google processes this data on our behalf, under Google's own privacy and security commitments, and does not use it for its own purposes.
  • If required by law — we may disclose information if legally required to, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. Storage & security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore for structured data, Cloud Storage for photos), transmitted using encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, and access-controlled by security rules that restrict every wedding's data to its account owner and the collaborators they've explicitly invited. Public RSVP pages are intentionally scoped to expose only what a guest needs to see and submit — they cannot browse your full guest list, budget, or any other wedding's data.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we design access controls specifically so that a wedding's data is visible only to the people that wedding's owner has chosen to invite.

6. Retention & deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account and any wedding you belong to remain active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. Deleting your account:

  • Permanently deletes every wedding you own — including all of its guests, budget, vendors, checklist, schedule, photos, and activity log
  • Removes your membership from any wedding you merely joined as a collaborator, without affecting that wedding for its other members
  • Deletes your account profile and sign-in credentials

This action cannot be undone. If you'd like help deleting data instead of using the in-app control, contact us at the address in Section 12.

7. Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. In this app, you can exercise most of these directly:

  • Access & correct — every field you or your collaborators entered (names, guests, budget, vendors, etc.) is visible and editable directly in the app
  • Delete — delete individual guests, vendors, transactions, or checklist items at any time, or delete your entire account as described in Section 6
  • Withdraw from a wedding — a collaborator can leave a wedding they no longer want access to

For anything not available directly in the app — including requests made on behalf of a guest who isn't an app user themselves — contact us and we'll assist.

8. Children's privacy

Sanjog is intended for adults planning or participating in a wedding, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International data transfers

Our infrastructure provider, Google Firebase, may process and store data on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country with data protection laws that may differ from those of your home country.

10. Third-party services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the app. We don't control how these providers themselves handle data beyond what we send them — their own privacy policies apply to that processing.
